Refund Policy
The Journal of Applied Finance and Economic Policy (JAFEP) strives to provide a transparent and fair process for all authors, readers, and stakeholders. This Refund Policy outlines the circumstances under which a refund may be issued and the procedures involved.
1. Submission and Publication Fees
JAFEP may charge authors a fee for manuscript submission, peer review, or publication. These fees are typically non-refundable once a manuscript has been submitted or accepted for publication, as they are used to cover the costs of processing, peer review, editing, and other editorial services.
2. Refund Eligibility
Refunds may only be issued in the following circumstances:
-
Pre-Submission Withdrawal: If an author decides to withdraw their manuscript before submission, no fee will be charged, and no refund is necessary.
-
Withdrawal Before Peer Review: If an author withdraws their manuscript after submission but before peer review begins, any applicable fees will be refunded in full, excluding any transaction fees or administrative costs.
-
Rejection After Peer Review: If a manuscript is rejected after peer review and the author has paid a fee, the author may be eligible for a partial refund, depending on the stage of the review process. The refund amount will be determined by the editorial team, based on the work already completed.
-
Technical or System Errors: If a refund request is made due to technical issues (e.g., an incorrect payment or submission error), JAFEP will review the issue and, if appropriate, issue a full refund of the paid fee.
-
Non-Publication: If an article is not published due to an error or mistake on the part of the journal (e.g., failure to follow the journal's guidelines or failure to deliver the article on time), authors may request a refund. The refund will be considered based on the nature of the issue and the work done to date.
3. Non-Refundable Fees
The following fees are non-refundable under any circumstances:
-
Publication Fees: Once an article has been accepted for publication, any associated publication fees are non-refundable, as the editorial and production processes have already begun.
-
Review Fees: If a manuscript has been sent out for peer review, the fees related to the review process are non-refundable, as the review work has been initiated.
-
Administrative Fees: Any administrative charges or fees associated with manuscript handling and processing are non-refundable once the manuscript has entered the system.
4. Refund Process
-
Refund Request: Authors who believe they are eligible for a refund should submit a written request to the editorial office at [contact@jafepjournal.com]. The request should include the manuscript details (title, submission number, author names), the reason for the request, and any relevant payment information.
-
Review of Request: Refund requests will be reviewed by the editorial team on a case-by-case basis. Once a decision has been made, authors will receive written confirmation of the decision.
-
Refund Method: If a refund is approved, it will be processed via the same method through which the payment was made. Depending on the payment method, refunds may take up to 30 days to process.
5. Exceptions
Refund requests that fall outside of the above circumstances will be reviewed at the discretion of the editorial team. Refunds will not be issued for services rendered, including editorial, review, or publication work already completed.
6. Changes to the Refund Policy
This Refund Policy is subject to change. Any updates or revisions to the policy will be communicated to authors through our website and other official communication channels. The updated policy will apply to all submissions and payments made after the revision date.
